Southern Districts was established in 1979 following the merger of two proud neighbouring clubs, Beckenham and Waltham.
Built on a strong history of community sport, we exist to provide opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy and grow through cricket. We are also proud to run South East Ōtautahi cricket, to serve the wider by working alongside neighbouring clubs and partners to strengthen pathways, boost participation, and ensure everyone has the chance to experience the fun, friendships, and lifelong benefits that cricket offers.
As we look ahead, we are also celebrating our past — with the 2026 Centenary Project marking 100 years since the founding of Beckenham Cricket Club. This milestone honours the generations of players, volunteers, and supporters who built the foundation we continue to stand on, and inspires us to carry that legacy forward into the next century of cricket
