AFTER SCHOOL HUBS
Designed for Years 0-2, our afterschool hubs are to introduce fundamental skills.
These sessions will take place at Beckenham Park, and numbers dependent at local schools. We will have small groups and use cricket and other sports to teach these fundamental skills.
TRADITIONAL INTERCLUB CRICKET
There are many grades and options available for more traditional Saturday Morning cricket, from Year 1 Kiwi cricket, to Year 8 Hardball Cricket. We also have two Girls only teams. These grades are played on a Saturday morning from 9am.
Years 0-4 is played locally usually at either Bradford or Beckenham Parks. Year 5-8 is played around the city on artificial wickets at Primary schools or council parks.
SDCC works closely with our schools to provide cricketing opportunities to all students. We support schools to enter local Interschool competitions and have ongoing coaching visits to some schools.
We support the entry of our participants into CJCA run Festivals, these are available for entry for Boys in Year 5 onwards, and Girls of all ages.

How much does it all cost?
Our Subscriptions are currently just $40 per child with a sibling discount for 2 or more. We also have an optional club hoodie available for order for an extra $40-50.
We believe that sport should be accessible for all whānau and will always keep our subscriptions as low as possible.
We will have fundraising throughout the season (no chocolate or selling glad wrap I promise!) that we encourage members to attend and join us for BBQs and other events throughout the season.
What do we need?
We provide each team with a gear bag, and each player with a uniform shirt.
The only compulsory personal piece of equipment is a protective box for boys from year 5 onwards.
From Year 5 onwards, Helmets are also compulsory to wear and although we do supply them, they are hard to stock in gear bags due to comfort/ style and they get very sweaty!
If you choose to buy your child a new helmet, get them fitted at any professional shop such as Cricket Express and ensure they meet the BS 7928: 2013 standards.
How do we register?
All registrations are taken through CricHQ. Please follow the link and register your child.
*Note if you are unable to pay straight away, when you get to the end, instead of the credit card screen, you can click on ‘Bank Account’ on the right tab and an invoice will be sent instead.
Where can we find the draw / grade rules / festival nominations?
All Junior Cricket is managed by the Christchurch Junior Cricket Association (CJCA).
Their website contains all of the draws, results, grade rules, and festival information.
